Capturing the essence of love through the lens is always a remarkable journey. It was such a pleasure to photograph this couple … every movement they made, every gesture they shared, and every look they exchanged were so effortless, light, full of air, delicate and cool at the same time. Their connection was tangible, almost ethereal. The ease with which they interacted with each other and their surroundings made each frame a testament to their love - a love that was as profound as it was unpretentious. This shoot was a reminder of the beauty that lies in simplicity and the powerful stories that can be told when two souls are perfectly in sync.

Bupsong and Alexander's wedding at the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich
It was not the first wedding I photographed at the Dolder Grand hotel, but I had never seen it to be so dreamy. The Libraries of the hotel with their old world romance are perfect for intimate celebrations. The bride and the Dolder Grand’s florists created a stunning tablescape styled with textured botanicals that brought a modern touch to this authentic place.
Rose & Jan, wedding in Engelberg, in the Swiss Alps
I met beautiful Rose 2 years ago, when she and Jan just moved to Switzerland (and I immediately mentioned, if they decide to get married one day, I should be their wedding photographer :). Instead of a big wedding in Marbella, it was a last-minute affair in the Swiss Engelberg, a very picturesque 300 years old Herrenhaus Grafenort, followed by lunch at Bürgenstock resort.
Jasmine & Mark, wedding at Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich
One more dream location in Switzerland - the Dolder Grand, one of the nicest hotels in Switzerland, nested on the hill above Zurich overlooking the city, its lake and the Alps. First time I was taking pictures of Jasmine and Marc during their civil registration ceremony at Greifensee Schloss the year before, I was struck by their Old Hollywood flair and overall resemblance to all legendary actors and actresses :) Jasmine wanted her wedding to be organically and timelessly beautiful and withstand passing trends. Breathtaking Summer-infused colourful florals (thanks to “English rosarium”) accompanied each stage of the wedding day, from the ceremony at Alte Kirche Witikon to the dancing floor at the magnificent Dolder Grand hotel. A stunning Galia Lahav wedding gown in combination with loosely gathered huge bouquet featuring cream garden roses, blush dahlias and bluebells made a truly stunning appearance. As a homage to their small children, Jasmine wore an exquisite heirloom veil embroidered with their names. At the altar, also lavishly decorated with flowers, Jasmine and Marc exchanged the rings. First champagne was served directly after the ceremony at the church backyard. There as well, under a big birch tree the newly married husband and wife read their hand-written vows. During the cocktail hour at Dolder the couple and the guests set free air balloons, and the dinner was served in the room overlooking the terrace.

Marjolein & Christian wedding in Schlössli Utenberg
One of my most favourite weddings of last Summer! After civil registration (wonderfully in a perfect “city hall” wedding style :) the couple had an outdoor ceremony in Schlössli Utenberg in Lucerne. This green oasis is a pure gem to celebrate weddings in Switzerland. Schlössli Utenberg is conveniently located in the centre of Lucerne overlooking the Vierwaldstättersee and the Alps and is full of beautifully photogenic corners! :)
Rebecca & Greg, wedding in Luzern // wedding photographer in Luzern // Zivile Trauung im Portraitsaal, Luzern
I am still not sure what I love about this wedding the most - the beautiful Hotel des Balances, where Rebecca was getting ready, or her fabulous alabaster skin? Or was it her dreamy shoes and embroidered silky layers of the wedding dress that I was not able to stop taking pictures of? Or her classic hair style that will never go out of style? Or was it the charming smile of the Groom? Well, I guess it was a perfect combination of everything :) (and I could not think of a more stunning venue to register the marriage than the majestic Portraitsaal in the Rathaus of Lucerne!)
Rainy wedding in Zermatt // wedding photographer in Switzerland // destination wedding photographer Zermatt // Hochzeitsfotos aus Zermatt
Another beautiful wedding that I loved a lot last year ... This lovely couple chose to exchange their wedding vows in Zermatt. They traveled all the way to Switzerland from the USA with family and friends and stayed at Cervo Mountain Boutique, where they planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the spectacular view of the iconic Matterhorn. On the morning of the wedding it started to rain cats and dogs, and the Matterhorn, perfectly seen just the day before, was completely covered with grey clouds. The gorgeous flower arch and all the ceremony decor had to be transported to the Ferdinand restaurant. The groom's mother was the Officiant, and the whole ceremony was very personal and emotional for the bride and groom. Despite of the heavy rain we still took outdoor portraits in the nearby meadow, which was actually a fun to do! The newlyweds celebrated well into the night with their guests!

Wedding photographer in Celerina // wedding photographer in Pontresina // Bianca & Tobias, dream wedding in Engadin
If you are looking for a place to get married with spectacular scenery, it is difficult to imagine a better country than Switzerland! And if you are looking a place with particular incredible views of the Swiss Alps, go to Engadin. Spending every winter vacation (and sometimes spring/summer/autumn) in Celerina, a picturesque village close to St. Moritz, I was always dreaming to photograph a wedding at its landmark San Gian Church. So you can imagine how happy I was to be able to photograph the wedding of Bianca and Tobias there. The wedding ceremony took place at San Gian, and the celebration was at the stunning "Kronenhof" hotel in Pontresina.

Qian & Denis, Wedding in Basel | Wedding photographer Basel - Civil registration - Basel - January, 2015
Walking by the beautifully illuminated Stadthaus (civil registration office) in Basel on Christmas Eve, I realised that I have never been photographing anybody in Basel and I wrote about it in my Instagram wishing myself to have a wedding there...and in about two weeks I got a letter from Qian! :)
